Skip Your Coffee. Fund Tomorrow.

What #skipyourcoffee is

SKIP YOUR COFFEE.

…AND DONATE WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE SPENT TO FUND THE SDT SAFETY TRIAL FOR GLIOBLASTOMA IN BERN.

WE ARE MAKING THIS POSSIBLE TOGETHER.

STANDARD CARE FOR GLIOBLASTOMA HAS NOT CHANGED IN 30 YEARS. EUROPEAN PATIENTS HAVE NOT HAD ACCESS TO A THERAPY THAT ALREADY PROVED ITSELF ACROSS THE ATLANTIC. THAT CHANGES IN LATE 2026."

How #skipyourcoffee works

One coffee. One donation. One ripple that turns into a wave.

#skipyourcoffee is a grassroots movement asking people across the UK and Europe to skip their morning coffee for a day and donate what they would have spent. That is typically £3, £4, £5 or the equivalent in euros. It goes directly to fund the Sonodynamic Therapy safety trial for glioblastoma planned for Bern, Switzerland in late 2026.

No overhead. No corporate layer. Every pound and euro goes to the trial itself.

The idea is simple. The impact is huge.

Why this trial matters

The therapy works by combining focused ultrasound with 5-ALA (a drug that has been safely used in brain surgery for over 20 years). The 5-ALA accumulates selectively in cancer cells and the ultrasound ‘activates’ it. The tumour cell dies from the inside out, while healthy brain tissue is left unharmed.

The evidence exists. European patients have not yet had access to it. That is what this trial changes.

Sonodynamic Therapy, known as SDT, changes that picture.

In early Phase 1 trials in the United States, survival in patients with recurrent glioblastoma doubled. Patients who typically had six to eight months saw fourteen to fifteen months instead. There were zero therapy-related adverse events. The treatment is non-invasive, outpatient and repeatable quarterly.

Let's do something extraordinary together

For every tomorrow!

The Trial

CureGBM, in partnership with Funding Neuro, is planning to launch the second SDT trial for glioblastoma in Europe at University Hospital Bern (Inselspital) in late 2026, led by Professor Philippe Schucht, a renowned Professor of Neurosurgery in neuro-oncology.

The trial is free for patients. Patients from the UK and Europe will be eligible to participate.

To open the trial, CureGBM needs an additional £100,000. That funding covers three things: device calibration and measurement tool development, patient recruitment and coordination, and the regulatory preparation required to get the trial authorised and running.

#skipyourcoffee is how we raise it. One coffee at a time

How to join

Step one. Skip your coffee today. Or any day you choose.

Step two. Donate what you would have spent. Whatever your coffee costs, in your own currency. Every amount matters.

Step three. Make a short video or post with #skipyourcoffee. Tag three people to skip theirs next. Include the donation link so they can give too.

The chain keeps going. The fund keeps growing.

You do not need a script

Just pick up your phone. Here are some starting points.

If you want to keep it personal: “I am skipping my coffee today. That money goes to the SDT trial for glioblastoma in Bern. Skip yours. Tag someone. #skipyourcoffee”

If you want to lead with the evidence: “Standard care for glioblastoma has not changed in 30 years. SDT doubled survival in early trials. I am skipping my coffee to help fund the European trial. Join me. #skipyourcoffee”

Shaky camera is fine. Coffee shop background is perfect. Real is enough.
